Vascular & Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology (IR) is a medical subspecialty that utilizes imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive, targeted treatments, often as an alternative to open surgery. IR procedures are often performed on an outpatient basis, and require very short recovery times. These procedures are usually less risky and less painful than traditional, surgery-based treatment options. Because many IR procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, they are often less costly due to brief or no need for patient hospital stays.

RCIA interventional radiologists are fellowship-trained and are adeptly skilled in performing a variety of IR procedures in pain management, the diagnosis and treatment of certain cancers, and many other exams that increase patients’ comfort and quality of life.

Please call (210) 704-2511 for any questions regarding IR procedures and scheduling.
